We focused on talking about Active Voice The Comic Collection and the special collaboration I did with Heidi Ho and her family for one of the key stories in it.
For the 4th year in a row, I’ll be moderating this panel! More details to come!
Go support it and get some nifty extras!

Yes, this means the actual release of the graphic novel will be delayed until August. (If you were a follower on my Facebook or Twitter pages, you would have seen the post about my laptop dying and delaying everything. Sigh.)
My first featured speaking event as part of their Forum series! I will be speaking in depth about Active Voice The Comic Collection!
It will be Sunday, May 14th (Mother’s Day) from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
I will be signing books after the event. (Limited copies will be for sale.)
It will also be recorded and posted online if you’re not able to make it.
More information will be posted on their website: Grace Cathedral Forum Series
So now we’re in editing and cleanup. Once we’re done, I’ll launch the #kickstarter with bonus items like original art postcards and t-shirt(s). #lgbtcomics
“Active Voice” Middle School Edition under consideration because (thanks to my co-contributor Heidi Ho) I’ve received a spike in feedback from US middle school educators if the book can be added to their libraries.
While the book is not specifically written for kids in middle school, I do think there is a lot of value in several of the real-life stories it contains. I’m opened to the idea of creating one if the current version has some content that could be unnecessarily troublesome for sensitive guardians (short of banning the book altogether.) So I am willing to take feedback of what could be changed to create a “school edition” so that kids can read it without concerns of too mature of language or content. For example, I am willing to black out/change strongly inappropriate/inflammatory words if it means a healthy discussion about the situation can still be had.
Educators who are interested, please feel free to contact me at pkristen@furiapress.com. Target deadline date of May 15th for feedback.
My schedule has been confirmed as follows:
Friday, March 31
6p to 7p: I’ll be signing at the Prism Comics booth #1308, which is located towards the front of Hall B next to DC Entertainment.
Saturday, April 1st
11a to 12p: I’ll be appearing on the panel “Queer Comics at the Crossroads”, room 211.
Panel summary: “In the past several years, LGBTQAIU individuals have made great strides in representation in comics. The next frontier for queer creators is tackling characters whose experiences straddle not only a queer identity but the other identities that make people who they are-racial, religious, gender, and more. What are the unique challenges facing writers and artists who wish to examine intersectionality of identities? How do a character’s additional identities complement or complicate their lives and loves? Join Prism Comics and moderator Tara Madison Avery (Gooch, Alphabet, Stacked Deck Press, Prism Comics) and panelists Vi Cao (David Doesn’t Get It), P. Kristen Enos (Active Voice,Web of Lives), Viktor T. Kerney (StrangeLore), Sonya Saturday (Load World Comics), William O. Tyler (Ratboy), and Josh Trujillo (Love Machines, Death Saves) for a lively discussion of intersectionality in comics.”
6p to 7p: Again, I’ll be signing at the Prism Comics booth #1308, which is located towards the front of Hall B next to DC Entertainment.
So my graphic novel has made the finalist cut for the Lambda Literary Awards! Woo Hoo!
Congratulations to my fantastic team of artists: Casandra, Derek, Leesamaria, Beth and Dan!
And of course: Nico, Joseph, Heidi and John (Duran!)
