Added some more postings over on the forum. Highlights include my comments on “Frida”, “Priscilla”, “Rock of Ages” and “Batwoman”
This way it’ll be easier for me to see what I have and haven’t made comments on, as well as add current thoughts.
New Forum Postings
Adding new comments on the TV series “True Blood” and comic series “Kevin Keller”.
Also started moving over my anime/manga reviews (and deleting them from the blog.)
I just found out about this event in Seattle. Don’t know if I can make it since it’s so last minute (and I’m still recovering from my July travel craziness.)
But if you’re interested and in the area: Geek Girl Con
My stuff:
Active Voice column, p 19: “Comics are for kids?!” About killing time at the laundromat and having to entertain some little girls with the latest in digital comic entertainment. A little harder than I thought it would be.
Snapped in West Hollywood, p 41, the pics that I took for Christopher Street West ’12.
The date was chosen to celebrate its one year anniversary of returning to the Blade California magazine.
Available digitally for sure and print on demand.
As I moved over older reviews, I’ve also posted new tidbits:
“Reno 911″, Comic Con panel on Northstar, “Sandman”, “Modern Family”
Since I’ve been dissatisfied with the blog format for posting LGBT news and reviews (hence why I haven’t been posting that much recently), I’ve created a forum to make it easier and more visually organized for such material.
I will be moving related blog postings over to the forum.
And expect new stuff to be posted every couple of days.
Plus, YOU can contribute as well!
A chat with Kevin and Russ at Long Beach Pride has me rethinking my writing priorities: The play is turning deeper, which is good but more time consuming — and I want to do it right.
And an Active Voice book collection just needs about 30 – 50 pages of original material and solid proofing.
Soooooo, I’m focusing on getting the first AV collection out since I need something “easy” to tackle for now. I don’t want to set a “publish date” yet, but expect early Fall.
My stuff:
Active Voice column: “Vocabulary Lesson” – Do YOU believe in fairies?, page 21
Long Beach Pride photos, page 41 (even though they screwed up my name in the credit)
